Maree Wauchope

Maree Wauchope was appointed as the CEO of Barunga West Council in April 2020. She brings extensive public sector leadership expertise from her executive roles within the State Government and her experience as a non-executive director on various State Government boards. Maree was involved in the Major Projects Branch of the South Australian State Government's Big Build between 2007 and 2014, contributing to legacy projects such as major road expressways, rail revitalizations and electrification, and the Adelaide Oval redevelopment.
During her time with local government, Maree has successfully led the redevelopment of Fisherman Bay, which involved over $25 million of infrastructure works and has successfully advocated for the upgrade of Upper Yorke Road between Port Broughton and Bute.
Residing on the Yorke Peninsula, Maree is a proud advocate for the region. She is genuinely committed to ensuring it remains a great place to live, work, and play.
